ZAGREB TROPHY 2008 SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Croatian Skating Federation & KBK METEOR Zagreb & KBK SPIN Zagrebhave the honour and pleasure of inviting You and Your Team to participate at the Zagreb Trophy 2008.

PARTICIPATION
The Zagreb Trophy 2008 will be conducted in accordance with ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2006, Special Regulations & Technical Rules Short Track Speed Skating 2006, as well as all pertinent ISU Communications.

Participation in the Zagreb Trophy 2008 is open to all ISU Members.

TECHNICAL DATA
All Competition Events will take place in Competition Ice Rink – Arena Velesajam (30 meters x 60 meters).
Arena Velesajam is an indoor, heated, artificial ice surface.

The compass of the track is 111.12 meters, according to the ISU Rules with curves of 8 meters. During the Competition there will be 5 additional tracks with displacement of 1 meter each. The finish line for all distances is the same; only the starting place of the distances 500 and 1500 m will be changed.

DISTANCES

Seniors + Juniors A: 1500m, 500m, 1000m, 1500m Super Final
Juniors B: 500m, 500m, 1000m, 1500m Super Final
Juniors C: 1000m, 500m, 800m, 1500m Super Final
Juniors D: 800m, 400m, 500m, 1000m Super Final
Juniors E: 500m, 222m, 333m, 800m Super Final
Juniors F: 333m, 111m, 222m, 500m Super Final

Relay : 3000m (Seniors, Juniors A and B) – Teams with 4 skaters
Relay : 2000m (Juniors  C , D and E or F) – Teams with 3 skaters

In Relay races, Skaters will be divided into two age groups :

Group A :    Seniors + Juniors A + Juniors B
Group B :    Juniors C + Juniors D + Juniors E or F

The Competition system will be decided by Competition Steward during the Team Leaders Meeting and will depend on quantity of Skaters in each Category.

The first round of each distance will be made on the basis of the personal best time supplied with the Final Entry.

On the distances of Super Finals only Competitors who have gained Final Points in one of the Finals of the previous distances are allowed to participate. The final standing will be calculated by adding the final points 34-21-13-8-5-3-2-1 scored in the distance Finals. In case of a tie, results achieved in the long distance Super Finals will count. (See Rule 282)

PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE

EQUIPMENT
Only equipment, which is in accordance with the ISU Rules, can be used in the Competition. The compulsory rounding of the corners of the blades will be controlled.

ENTRIES
Preliminary Entries with number of Participants and date and time of arrival and departure must be sent to the Organizing Committee not later than on Sunday, March 2, 2008 (Hotel Reservation and Meal requests).
Final Entries with name and date of birth of all Skaters must be sent not later than on Friday, March 7, 2008.

The Entries must contain the following:

1. the name of Member Association or Club
2. the number of the Team Members and the list of names (full names), the date of birth, gender & category
3. personal best time for each Athlete over each Category and distance must be supplied for seeding purposes

ENTRY FEE : 10.- EUR per Skater

AWARDS
The first three-placed Competitors of the individual competition in the overall ranking will receive medals accordingly.

LIABILITY
In accordance with the Rule 119, the Organizer accepts no liability for bodily and personal injury, or for property loss or damage incurred by Competitors and Officials. Each ISU Member / each Club is expected to provide its own insurance protection.
Proof of such shall be requested by the Organizing Committee.

Hotel, Meals and Travel expenses have to be covered through the respective Member.
